About ComparLab

ComparLab is a focused collection of comparison tools designed to make changes easy to understand without sending the material you compare to a server.

Why ComparLab exists

Comparing two versions should not require installing a desktop application, creating an account, or uploading sensitive text and configuration files. ComparLab provides practical workspaces for writers, developers, analysts, and operations teams who need to review a change quickly.

Private by design

The comparison engine, file reading, JSON and YAML parsing, and XML normalization run in your browser. Inputs are held in the current page’s memory. ComparLab does not provide cloud storage for comparisons and does not receive the text, source code, or structured data entered into the tools.

What we build

The current toolbox covers text revisions, list membership, source-code changes, and structured formats including JSON, XML, and YAML. Each tool is tested against representative examples and documents its normalization rules and limitations.

Accuracy and feedback

Automated differences are an aid to review, not a replacement for human judgment. Our comparison methodology explains what each mode treats as meaningful. If a result is unclear or incorrect, please contact us.
